Barn Conversion - Rural Suffolk

Location - East Suffolk

Date - 2025

Type - Private Barn Conversion

GIA - 114 m2

This ongoing project is converting a former farmyard barn into a high-performance rural home for a highly engaged client. Currently on site, the work involves substantial structural intervention, including concealed steel reinforcement and foundation underpinning, to stabilise the existing building and safeguard its original fabric.

The retrofit strategy seeks to deliver contemporary standards of comfort and energy efficiency while retaining the barn’s character. Upgrades are being discreetly integrated, with insulation, low-energy systems and smart technologies introduced in a way that preserves the texture and authenticity of the original structure.

Close collaboration with the client remains central to the process, supporting the delivery of a robust, sustainable and carefully crafted home rooted in its agricultural heritage.
